The role member organizations play in shepherding projects through local communities is arguably Fairfield 08’s major strength. In the “home rule” culture that pervades Connecticut’s 169 towns it is critical to have strong local leadership and support for affordable housing to be built in much of the state.
Fairfield 08 also relies on development consultants to assist in deal structuring and applications for subsidy financing. Key consultants that we have worked with and will continue to work with include:
Brad Schide LLC: Brad Schide has over 15 years experience working with the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Department of Economic and Community Development and other housing finance organizations.
Collaborative Development Consulting: Peter Wood has over 20 years experience developing affordable and public housing though non-profit and for-profit companies.
I Squared Community Consultants: A team of nationally recognized housing consultants led by Eric Hangen who has 15 years of experience in housing finance and strategic planning.
Konover Properties Corporation: Carol Martin, Konover’s VP of Development, has six years experience working for two urban Housing Authorities and has significant experience working with special needs populations.
Newcastle Housing Ventures, LLC: Lou Trajcevski has 15 years working with the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, the Department of Economic and Community Development and other State Agencies assisting in the production of affordable housing.
Real Estate Solutions: MaryBeth McNerney has 20 years experience in Real Estate development with a focus on supportive and affordable housing. She has worked extensively with the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development: Betsy Crum, Wendy Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Youngerman all have over 20 years experience in affordable and permanent supportive housing development. The Institute’s mission is to build affordable housing that fosters economic security for low-income women and families.
